In Acts of Secrecy – The DC-3 that Disappeared, you can learn more about the tragic history behind the Swedish DC-3 that was shot down by a Soviet fighter in 1952. In 2003, the wreckage was discovered at the bottom of the Baltic Sea, and found its final resting place in this museum in May, 2009. Expecting the Worst – Sweden during the Cold War tells of the Cold War and how it affected Sweden, its policies and citizens.
The development of Swedish military aviation
The exhibition on the history of Swedish military aviation and technological development during the first half of the 20th century has been enhanced by various portrayals of planes as symbols of that period’s belief in the future. This story is linked to those who designed, flew and serviced the planes, as well as to the threat aircraft represented to their surroundings.
A unique collection of aircraft
The Swedish Air Force Museum has a unique collection of aircraft from the pioneers of aviation to today’s JAS 39 Gripen. Many of these can only be seen at the Swedish Air Force Museum.
